Who's your favorite character? Well, this is probably not very original, but I prefer Fanny. Which woman wouldn't want to be like her?
Which Kiekeboe character do you resemble the most ? Charlotte. I'm like her in that I'm also the person who keeps everything together at home.

Biography
Ria Smits graduated as a secondary school teacher and taught math, physics and chemistry. (Such things happen in the best families). She comes from a family that was not very much familiar with comics. It's funny that she, of all peple, would be the one to fall in love with a comics artist. From the start she took care of the lettering of De Kiekeboes.
After a while she gave up teaching and accepted her husband's job offer: coloring comics. In view of her education, this was a job she wouldn't have dreamed of but she liked it and she has been doing it ever since. First, she used a brush and gouache. Later on, she started using the computer.
She also handles all the practical and financial details, giving Merho time to concentrate on the fun things. She married him in 1974. They have a daughter, Ine, who also used to teach and switched to coloring, They have two grandchildren: Mette and Finn
