Tomboy is a new friend of Fanny's. They are not as close as Fanny and Alanis, althought the latter doesn't particularly like the 'competition'. Tomboy is a mulatto, she has a black mother and a white father. She grew up in the ghetto and can hold her own with the boys in the neighborhood. She's a tomboy indeed.
Tomboy works as a prostitute in the Pinkelman Hotel, but people there know her as Stefanie. She's scared to death that somebody will find out about her job and only Fanny knows her secret.
