Alanis is Fanny's best friend. Sometimes, for example in the book En in kwade dagen (And for Worse) she hates to be overshadowed by her friend, but usually both girls stand by each other through thick and thin. Alanis is cheerful, sometimes a little naive and jealous at times. Aren't we all like that on occasion?
Recently, Alanis is having a bad time because Fanny is very close with Tomboy whom she doesn't trust one bit.
