Moemoe is a very bossy woman who is always rushing in to claim everyone's attention. She often commandeers her son, Marcel, to do a lot of chores and if things don't work out the way she wants, she scolds him and he has to take the rap for it.
In fact, Moemoe is only more or less agreeable when she is on holiday, so the rest of the family can have a bit of peace. Moemoe is always comparing her son Marcel to the son of Mrs. Stokvis, her best friend.
